Oh, this is beautiful, Almut! Thank you. I am taking this little parable to heart today. There is such beautiful sunshine, right here, where I am this day.
I smiled as I read your words... for I have at times been a bit envious of your writing! You have a lovely way of expressing your thoughts--eloquently, sincerely, and gently. But then I recenter in gratitude, appreciating the way you share your encouraging inspirations to carry with us. Whenever those inspirations arise!
Thank you so much for this beautiful story, and for sharing so generously your own struggles. I have known--and still face!--those same struggles. So hard sometimes to realize the filtered sunlight that shines on us, to wiggle our toes deep in our own soil, and to trust that our blossoms bless others. Thank you, thank you.
Thank you for sharing your vulnerability. I needed to read this story as I too have acutely been feeling the bird pecking at me in the form of "enoughness". Blessings on your day!
Your graced words Almut, gave me my morning prayer ( for me , for we)
May I sink my roots deeper into the soil that is here. Let grace find me right where I am. May I stay rooted and alive in my own patch of earth. May I trust my life is indeed, divine.
Oh, Almut, your writing is always a balm for my sore heart. Thank you for this, and for you, and for the work of your own heart here on Substack. A blessing, indeed.
We need you here, Almut. I don’t know what it is about your presence and your way of speaking through writing—clarity, authenticity, simplicity, honoring, a place to stand, pause, breathe, and be cared for. I’m thankful that your life doesn’t seem to be lived in busy institutional places because then you would take us there instead of the profoundly beautiful, thoughtful, heart- and soul-centered places you invite us to share with you.

Yes, what a beautiful Fall day it is today. So glad you enjoyed my retelling of Kierkegaard’s little parable. Warm greetings to right where you are 🤗

And to you also, dear Katherine 🙏
What If is what I can't say,
What If has no answer,
for I am clearly on my way
to meet the Lord, through cancer.
If Only merely weakens me
If Only takes away morale,
for I must stand and fight, you see
at my own OK Corral.
Am I the lawman, or the thug?
Does it really matter?
Am I the windshield, or the bug
that on fate's glass doth shatter?
I ponder this, the world goes round
as I stride across the bloody ground.
Thank you for sharing your poem and journey here, and Blessings on your way, Andrew 🙏
