Almut, thank you for articulating our pleas.. so many harms are being done due to carelessness or more likely maliciousness... The beautiful photos, the reminder to walk to the garden (mine is all yellow right now), to breathe, to love... all soothing and empowering... Thank you.
A poignant lament. 1/3 of the psalms are laments - the psalmists knew how to wail and weep - we must - Laments: the anguished voice of hope. And then . . . . action together. "O God, come to our assistance. O Lord, make haste to help us! Thank you.
Thank you for your lament that gives words to my saddened heart. And more thanks for the exquisite photography that reminds me of God’s enduring love . Lament and love contain us on this perilous journey. May you be blessed in your ministry to us readers.
“What if I am not looking for your prayers or your actions, but for your surrender?”
Those words drew my heart immediately to the stories of Job, Jonah, David, Moses, Paul—both in the thorn he carried and when he was struck down on the road—and finally to Jesus, surrendering Himself in Gethsemane and on the cross.
I was faced this morning with a moment of surrender that cut across my ego. Only a few months ago, I would not have been able to yield. But today, to my surprise, it felt almost obvious—like a door opening to a room I didn’t know I could enter.
I am beginning to realize that surrender is not loss but alignment: a leaning away from my own comfort and into the purposes of God. Each small act of letting go seems to clear space for a Presence larger than my own striving.
Stephan, thank you for sharing your heart with us. Surrender is the hardest. Kierkegaard says some where, depending fully on God is the greatest independence. It is a life long mystery indeed.
Comforted being with others in Spirit as we hold the weight of continued suppression of the voices of the victims of abuse, continued oppression, violence and war. So much more.
Thank you for this much needed mid week blessing Almut. 🙏
Hush, child of God. Rise. Do not be afraid.....perfect words for these times. Thank you ,Almut.
🙏
In my shared heartache with you, I have been unable to write. Thank you for putting into words what so many of us are feeling.
🙏

Thank you, too, Anne, for being here with us and sharing your garden also 😇
Your words lifted this weary soul. Thank you -- a phrase that seems much too small a response.
lovely. “lifting a weary soul,” what else can I hope for? Thank you, Mary Kay!
Oh Almut what a beautiful psalm of lament. Your photo images bring a sense of calm and depth of peace for my soul…

This morning I sensed the Lord whispering to me:
“What if I am not looking for your prayers or your actions, but for your surrender?”

Not loss but alignment: I love your insight.

A blessing is being sent. May it be so. Tell us how to do this.
Yes, tell us how to do so, oh God, Amen.
