Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful story Almut. I am sure it is what the Spirit is whispering to the world. To everyone who has already lost and who is going to lose. To everyone. And she does it like a Mother who understands…
Almut, my children are now all adult...my eldest, born when I was seventeen, will be 56 next month! We grew up together! I still worry about them, still wish I could tell them a story when they go through hard times. I once heard a phrase, "A mother is only as happy as her saddest child," and I think that's true...at least for me. And mine are all happy! (Thank you Jesus!). I have a lot of fears right now...especially for the country that will be left for my children, grandchildren, and great-grand children. I'm going to take those fears for a dance. Thank you, Almut. Liked and restacked.
We are never too old to hear a children’s story, right? I am glad it resonated with you, Linda. I so understand being fearful about this world. And so I am glad you will find some consolation in dancing with your fears. May you find hope in doing so.
Oh, Almut - you have a beautiful way with a Mother's words...thank you for this story for your precious Hannah and all the children who hear them. Includng my little granddaughters, Grace and Marie, with whom I will share this!
I really like the idea of giving up fear for Lent; too many things to feel anxious about if not actual fear.
May all your family sleep well!
Bless you, Sally, and the same to you.
