Thank you for the reminder that “I am right here with you.” Because “I have wounds that are not healed yet”.

How to process the very real angst and fear for our country and world. How to keep the faith and the promise, “ Fear not for I have overcome the world.” This is our work going forward. Blessings and peace to all.

Thank you Almut. Yes, personal and communal grieving. Psalms 24 and 46 sustain me. Psalm 73 gives voice to my question. Chris

Chris, Yes, the wicked prosper and does God take note? It is in times like these that I can feel the visceral truth of the cursing psalms (like some of the verses in 73). They at least express my anger, even when I am reticent. And pictures and words like Almut's help me to see a better way. Still a way of action, but action done in love. Peace to you.

Kiran, so wonderful to hear from you. I love your psalm podcast. I am also a Benedictine oblate and so chanting psalms is what we do. The sung version you present is more assessable for many I think and it is hauntingly beautiful. And what else can we do in times like this than retreating to the psalms? That you for offering this retreat online. What a hidden gem on Substack 😇

PS: are you doing the DMs here on Substack? I was wondering how to best reach out to you with some questions.

Such beautiful photos and quieting words. I deeply appreciate those.

I've also never read Psalms but it resonated with my heart.

Thank you for putting into words that which seems unimaginable and without words. We must befriend our grief and sit with it until it teaches us what we need to know. God help us all.
