tears in eyes as I read (my birthing similar, near 50 yrs ago!)

our world is in labour, birthing as good as the forsythia awaits?

(I waded thru snow for daffodil bulbs under snow... flowered in vases)

I'm late in reading this post, so at this point my forsythia have bloomed, however it is snowing outside today (unheard of in NJ in April), so now I am thinking about their blooms and if they will be hearty enough to endure. I suspect they will. Like all of us.

Ich bin beauftragt eine Osterandacht vor unserer evangelischen Gemeinde zu halten und hoffe auf gute Denkanstöße durch das mitpilgern in der Karwoche

Herliche grüße von Bernd Herbek

I have been commissioned to hold an Easter service for our Protestant congregation and hope that the pilgrimage during Holy Week will provide some food for thought.

Kind regards, Bernd Herbek

This is a season of mourning for me more than any I have experienced in my long life. Thank you for the reminder of comfort in Bach’s Passion. I will find our recording and listen in its entirety. And later I will listen to the Requiem by Brahms which I have loved since my youth.

What a beautiful description of your labor and delivery. I am an adoptive mother, but I identify with your image. I am not worthy to gather the crumbs of the gifts I received in my 2 children. Their mothers are in my heart always. I am grateful for your use of metaphor to see beyond the purely physical to a deeper truth.

So true, Susan, we are all birthing and mothering inwardly all the time.

To tend our sorrows, lightly, as joy is here in nature and coming…soon and again, in our spiritual life…
